General Info

Di Stasio Carlton is an Italian restaurant located at 224 Faraday St, Carlton VIC 3053, Australia, bringing a relaxed yet polished dining feel to one of Melbourne’s most well-known food locations. The setting suits anyone looking for a casual lunch, a comfortable catch-up, or a simple meal with Italian flavours at the centre of the table.

The menu at Di Stasio Carlton gives diners a good mix of familiar comfort and standout choices. One of the dishes that naturally catches attention is the Lobster Pizza. It feels like the kind of dish made for sharing, especially when the table wants something a little more memorable than a standard pizza order. The Salamino is another strong option for guests who enjoy bold, savoury flavours, while the Garlic Bread works well at the start of the meal, adding that warm, simple bite that fits easily into an Italian dining experience.

For pasta lovers, the Bombolotti Carbonara is a highlight worth noticing. It brings a rich and satisfying feel to the menu without making the meal feel too formal. Paired with cocktails, it creates a lunch or casual dining experience that feels easygoing but still special. The cocktails also add a nice social touch, making Di Stasio Carlton suitable for relaxed meals with friends, casual dates, or a slower afternoon in Carlton.

The restaurant offers outdoor seating, which is a big plus for diners who prefer eating outside when the weather is comfortable. This adds to the laid-back atmosphere and makes the location feel even more connected to the surrounding Carlton dining scene. Whether someone is stopping by for lunch or planning a casual Italian meal, the service options make the visit feel flexible and convenient.

Parking is also part of the experience to consider. Di Stasio Carlton provides access to both a free parking lot and a paid parking lot, giving visitors more choice depending on availability and timing. That small detail can make a difference, especially in a busy area where restaurant locations, parking, and ease of access often shape the overall visit.

Overall, Di Stasio Carlton comes across as a confident Italian restaurant with a focused menu, comfortable services, and a casual style that works well for different dining moments. For people reading reviews before choosing where to eat in Carlton, the combination of Lobster Pizza, Bombolotti Carbonara, cocktails, outdoor seating, and lunch service gives a clear picture of what to expect.

What customers say?

“ The courtyard is stunning. The service is first class (the lovely Maitre De greets you like an old friend). Staff are very attentive. The food is high quality. The gluten free pizzas without doubt are the best in Melbourne. I really can’t think of a better place to be on a warm Melbourne night! ”

“ Came down here for a Sunday dinner, there’s a 10% surcharge. The restaurant felt like an art gallery, service was efficient and food came out fast and delicious. We ordered pomodoro, carbonara and spaghettone vongole. Along with garlic bread and baby pizza cloud. I have to say that the dough used in both the garlic bread and pizza cloud is soft and airy, almost motchi like. It was an amazing bread experience. The family loved the pasta dishes, sauces were on point and flavours are amazing. Truly an authentic Italian experience, there is only one downside, the quantity of food is on the small side. This is definitely made up for in quality of the execution and delivery of the flavours. For a special occasion this is worth a visit. ”

“ We had such a wonderful time here! The staff was so welcoming and helpful - quickly tending to our kids so their food could get fired up right away and their impatience didn't infringe on our and others evenings! The food was immaculate - my wife suffers from celiac and said it was the best gluten-free pizza she ever had! The waiter paired our choices with a lovely pinot noir - I know nothing of wine but can confirm it was indeed a great couple of glasses to go along with my pizza! The decor was a tad bit to lime green to my liking, but if that's my only "complaint" I think it's fair to say it was a 10/10 experience! ”
